App: Family Protector (com.diztech.familyprotector) · Last updated: 21 June 2026
Family Protector ("the app", "we", "us") helps parents and legal guardians manage their own children's screen time and device usage, with full transparency. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how it is stored, and the choices you have.
Transparency first. A persistent notification is always shown on the child's device whenever monitoring is active. The app is exclusively for parents/guardians monitoring devices they own or are legally responsible for. It is not designed to track adults.
1. Information we collect
Account information — your name, email address, and an encrypted password (or Google Sign-In identifier) used to create and secure your account.
Pairing data — a unique pairing code that links a parent account to a child account.
Child device data — for linked child devices only: app usage statistics, daily screen-time totals, device lock status, and online/offline status. This is used to power the parent dashboard.
Messages — short messages a parent sends to a child through the app.
Device messaging token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver notifications (e.g. limit reached, device offline).
Advertising identifier — the Google Advertising ID may be used by Google AdMob to serve ads in the parent interface (see "Advertising").
2. How we use your information
To authenticate accounts and securely link a parent to their own child's device.
To display screen-time usage, lock status, and app usage on the parent dashboard.
To enforce screen-time limits and remote device locks requested by the parent.
To send notifications about screen-time events and device status.
To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
3. Parental consent & responsible use
The app is intended only for a parent or legal guardian monitoring a child for whom they are legally responsible. The parent is responsible for informing the child that the app is installed and active. Monitoring is always disclosed on the child's device via a persistent notification. Do not install the app on devices belonging to other adults.
4. How data is stored and secured
All data is stored in Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging).
Strict access rules ensure a parent can only access data for their own linked child devices.
App backups are disabled for added security.
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
5. Service providers
We share data only with infrastructure providers that process it on our behalf: Google Firebase (data storage, authentication, messaging) and Google AdMob (advertising). Their handling of data is governed by Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. We may also disclose data if required by law.
6. Advertising
The app displays ads served by Google AdMob within the parent interface. AdMob may use the device's advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. You can reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings under Settings → Google → Ads.
7. Children's privacy
Child device data (app usage, screen time, lock status) is accessible only to the linked parent account. We do not use children's data for advertising or sell it. If you believe a child's data has been collected without proper parental authorization, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Permissions we request
Device Administrator — to lock the child's device remotely.
App Usage Stats — to monitor screen time and app usage.
Foreground Service — to keep monitoring running with a persistent, always-visible notification on the child's device.
Notifications — to alert parents about screen-time events.
Boot Completed — to restart the monitoring service after a reboot so protection is continuous.
9. Data retention & deletion
We retain data while your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app, or by emailing us at the address below. Removing a child from your family deletes that child's monitored data. Account deletion permanently removes your data from our systems within 30 days.
10. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
